See details & agenda at the Haystack homepage. Check out previous Haystack Events. The conference occurs the week of April 21st, 2025 in Charlottesville, Virginia, USA with an online participation option for those that can’t join us in person. Here’s our draft agenda for the week:

• For early arrivals, come Monday 21st and enjoy a BBQ at OSC Founder Eric Pugh’s house 
• Come prior to the conference for Workshops/Trainings on Tuesday 22nd, or join an informal hackathon:
  • Choose two workshops from eight led by the teams at OpenSource Connections, OpenSearch, Datastax, Aryn.ai, John Berryman (author of Prompt Engineering for LLMs), and Trey Grainger (author of AI Powered Search)
  • We are Search Product Managers! bar camp (lunch and afternoon) – an opportunity to discuss challenges, experiences and best practices in Search & AI product management with your peers.
• Main conference starts Wednesday 23rd & Thursday 24th April:
  • Conference talks and sessions Wednesday and Thursday (draft agenda coming soon)
  • Conference Dinner Wednesday 23rd (included in your conference ticket)

Haystack brings together practitioners and problem solvers working on improving search relevance in their organization. Search as a product, and as an enabling technology, is on the cusp of a transformative era. The era of AI powered search and generative AI. Our attendees will get to know everything about this journey, from the big picture business decisions down to the nuts and bolts of selecting an algorithm or model to realize a technical goal.

Join the OSC team in our home town of Charlottesville (here’s our travel guide). Talks will be recorded to be provided later on the Haystack website and attendees will be the first to be given access to the videos.

Online attendance

Online attendees will be able to view both talk tracks on Wednesday and Thursday via separate Zoom meetings and can submit questions to be asked on their behalf. There will be OSC employees acting as online hosts to make sure you get the most from the event. You’ll also get early notice of when videos are available after the conference week.
