Elasticsearch is a search server built on Apache Lucene, available under an ‘open code’ license and created by Elastic. It provides a distributed, multitenant-capable full-text search engine with an HTTP web interface and schema-free JSON documents. Organisations using Elasticsearch include Slack, Netflix and Uber.

Elasticsearch is a trademark of Elasticsearch BV, registered in the U.S. and in other countries.
